Mike has a long-time passion for helping people in Central Alberta facing food insecurity. He served on the Red Deer Food Bank board for three years, volunteered at the Lacombe Food Bank, and Lacombe’s Echo Food Rescue. Mike volunteers with The Mustard Seed and the Ronald McDonald House.

Mike founded the Man Up Support Group for men experiencing divorce/separation, legal issues, child access, and mental health struggles. He is also a board member for the Alberta Advisory Board of the Canadian Centre for Men and Families. Mike was awarded the Mayor’s Recognition Award for Distinguished Voluntary Service in Red Deer for his commitment to service.

Mike was born and raised in Stettler, working for nearly 15 years as an on-air radio host. He continues to work in marketing and is a Community Ambassador for Red Deer’s Southside Dodge. In his spare time, you’ll find Mike watching Montreal Canadians games, Seattle Seahawks games, playing video games, and reading. Mike is the proud father of one daughter and lives in Lacombe.
